Mary Is Not The Mother Of God

To say that Mary is the mother of God is to insult God because God does not have a mother because HE is the Creator of all things including Mary. To say that she is the mother of God is to put her above God. That is blasphemy!

Let us put Mary in the right place — she is the mother of the human Jesus when He became Man. That’s why Jesus said that He is the Son of man, referring to Mary because she is just a human being like us. We respect Mary who accepted her role as the mother of man Jesus but let us see her as a woman who also needs a Savior as she states in Luke 1:46-48: “My soul magnifies the Lord and my spirit is glad in GOD MY SAVIOR for He took notice of the lowliness of His bond-slave…” See, she called God her Savior too.

Mary cannot intercede for us. The Bible says that there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus (I Timothy 2:5). See, it is Jesus who mediate or intercede for us to the Father. Jesus lives to intercede for us (Hebrew 7:25).

It is not Mary’s fault that she’s falsely called as the “mother of God” but it was the erroneous teaching of the Catholic church which used her authority as the head of all the churches. Their theologians were false teachers who invented this term to remove the worship of Jesus Christ from Him to Mary. Many pagan religions ahead of Judaism and Christianity were worshiping the Mother Goddess like in ancient Babylon ~Ishtar where Catholics derived the term Easter. There was Diana (Artemis), that was very popular in Asia minor (Turkey now). Even China had her Quan’yin. Ancient Rome had their Venus.

The Roman catholic church borrowed their teachings not from Christ nor the apostles but from pagan practices mentioned above.

As Christians, we must make a stand against this erroneous teaching because they cannot save us. Only Jesus can save us, not Mary. Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6).
